Joanna “Joey” Tice is a Modern Impressionist Artist from York, Pennsylvania.
She graduated from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art Class of 2015, receiving a BFA in Painting and Drawing with a Minor in General Business Studies....
[more+]Joanna “Joey” Tice is a Modern Impressionist Artist from York, Pennsylvania.
She graduated from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art Class of 2015, receiving a BFA in Painting and Drawing with a Minor in General Business Studies. Preferred medium to use is oil paint, but she expresses her creativity in many other mediums as well.
Her art studio is located on the third floor of York, Pennsylvania’s finest wine bar, The Handsome Cab, at 106 N George Street. The opportunity to share the studio with her High School Art Teacher was presented in 2019 and she has been creating work in the space there ever since.
She believes the wonderful part about having an art studio in Downtown York is the ability to feel a part of the creative community and have a space to participate during First Fridays and Second Saturday Art Walks. Not only will you find Joanna at her studio, but often she will go to first floor businesses and ask to plein air paint so her work gets seen by the community.
She also volunteers her time as a board member of York Art Association, with a goal of being able to make new connections and inspire others into the process of making art.
Joanna’s journey of being an Artist is filled with hope to invite fun, color, nostalgia, positivity, and self-guided interpretation in her work.

Seven regional artists using various mediums are collaborating on “unentitled,” looking at the broad topic of entitlements that are not present for all and the communities impacted.
Artists include Reagan Bitler, Ophelia Chambliss, Jeannine Dabb, Kristin Kest, Nicole Osborne, Andrew Smith, and Debbie Toluba. Mediums include paint, gourds, clay, and items from the natural world.
In addition to individual works related to the “unentitled” theme, artists worked in various combinations to create artworks outside the box for each creator individually.

Be sure to arrive at least 20 minutes early to complete a treasure hunt at the station, and participate in an interactive platform show with the buccaneers and fairies. On board, meet the characters, enjoy live sea shanties and receive your treasure! We can’t wait for you to join us for this exciting new voyage. Make sure to arrive in your pirate or pixie attire!
As a special treat, this adventure will be powered by the No. 17 steam engine!
